CHI Farms is a small family farm in the Skagit Valley in northwest Washington State. We raise American Blue and White rabbits, a heritage breed listed as critical by the American Livestock Breed Conservancy. We also raise chickens. Our garden contains mostly heirloom vegetables.
We are dedicated to our Americans, improving the breed, and spreading an awareness of just how great they really are. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. |

It's been more than a year of life in transition, but now, CHI Farms is ready to get back in business. After five moves, one spanning the height of the United States, and three the width of Washington, we've found our home in the fertile Skagit Valley in northwest Washington. Situated on a 40-acre organic leek farm, we will be leasing the farm house and adjacent yard area for the next two years.

Last night Rare Hare's Emily kindled 11 kits! Sired by CHI's Toby, this litter was intended to test Emily for non-extension, that nasty gene that rears its ugly head every now and again. Unfortunately, she failed which means that Emily's future in our rabbitry will be short. This is especially sad because she is one of the prettiest girls in the bunch.

. . . we are heading to Washington.
After thinning our herd considerably, we've moved the remaining breeders up to Washington, where they are being fostered by Todd Macom. Thanks Todd.
We'll be bringing them back under our roof as soon as we've gotten settled in. In the meantime, I'll be back at school working on my PhD in Horticulture.
Pacific Northwest, here we come. |

This morning I checked the barn and Aurora had built herself a beautiful litte nest and filled it with 4 babies. Not setting any records with that number (and one was dead), but the good news is --- THEY'RE ALL BLUE.
